  I do believe Arkham Origins has the single best iteration of Bane we’ve ever seen. The character design, the voice, his motivation and intellect matching his strength making him just as formidable of a foe to Batman as Joker is. It just sucks that it all had to be undone because of the game being a prequel and they had to turn Bane into a dumb hulking brute to maintain continuity with the Rocksteady games.

  I think a better title would be its not underrated "anymore".

  I think one of the main reasons Origins is propped up and seen as underrated is because it&apos;s own publisher treats the game as an afterthought. Warner Bros made sure Arkham Asylum, City and Knight are available on every single modern platfrom, yet Origins always gets left out and never acknowledged in any way. <br><br>The only exception is Arkham Shadow feeling like a direct continuation to Origins, but even that&apos;s a VR only game that barely anyone got to play. The only way to play Origins today is either on PC or a physical only back compat on Xbox.

  I mean it’s definitely not underrated in the Arkham community at all, but id still argue it’s very underrated in the broader gaming community as a whole. Hell, it STILL doesn’t have a next gen port almost 13 years later and most new-comers treat it like the black sheep/forgotten game of the franchise.

  You say that Origins undercut the ending of City and didn&apos;t really add anything to Batman and Joker&apos;s dynamic. I beg to differ. In every other game, it&apos;s as if Joker wants nothing but to kill or ruin Batman&apos;s day. Origins shows that their relationship runs deeper, at least for Joker. He felt something he had never felt before, a kind of connection to someone, something he was terrified of. When batman saved him from death when he fell off the building, he realized the connection. When he really gets to meet batman, it&apos;s as if he thinks that batman understands him in some way or another, that batman had a bad day as well that drove him to become batman, just like Joker. And when he witnesses Batman save Bane as well, he sees it as devotion. That, no matter what happens, batman will always try to save him. Which makes the ending of city hit harder because Joker thought batman had abandoned him in the asylum, yet batman was planning on saving both their lives. Joker didn&apos;t realize that until the end because of the hatred he had for being abandoned. It adds so much to their relationship that i feel reinforces the ending of City

  The community absolutely shredded Origins before and during launch. Its cool people finally caught on 10 years later; but its reception was the beginning of the end for this series. It hasnt been under rated for a long time. But it sure was when it mattered. Shadow is currently the most under appreciated by a long shot. Maybe in 10 years &nbsp;when people catch on it will get the same remaster treatment as Origins did.

  I don&apos;t think you actually properly understand that scene with Alfred... It&apos;s not about explaining why batman is important it&apos;s about showing the strained relationship between him and Alfred and showing batman&apos;s arrogance at this point in his life... Him making a huge speech about how he is fear or whatever and how he&apos;s not in over his head followed by bane almost killing Alfred... Your not supposed to think he&apos;s right in this situation... So no you couldn&apos;t slot it into any batman story

  Batman: Arkham Origins is so underrated, I got softlocked during the bridge sequence on my first playthrough where loading up the game would spawn Batman underneath Gotham City and fall infinitely, so I had to start the entire campaign over from scratch.
