  I live north of Sacramento in the valley. I live about 20 miles west of the foothills of the Sierra mountains. Both El Niño & the La Niña regardless of their strength can produce large amounts of snow & rain or not. I live by 2 levees in my neighborhood. We have to be prepared for anything during the fall & winter. It’s currently 90 degrees but the nights are cooling. I live down the street from the Feather River which dumps into the Sacramento River a few miles south of me. If we start flooding, the Yolo Causeway opens up to 38 gates to create a lake between West Sacramento and Davis which empties into the Delta Region (1,500 miles of waterways). It empties into Pacific Ocean & the San Joaquin River which can create the Tulare Lake again (135 years) it was the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River. California is ready as they can be for whatever happens. Trump dumped billions of water from that was meant for the farmers in the Central Valley during the summer. That water would never reach the LA during the fires. The airplanes that dump water couldn’t fly because of the Santa Ana winds (which are hurricane force winds that which from the Ocean to the drier desert areas). Trump thought the rivers started in Canada to Southern California, not 😂😂😂

  The weather man warns of more floods in New Mexico. The Indian reservations are already suffering from flood damages. They desperately need donations of food and funds.

  First year in recorded history, since 1882, that there has never been a hurricane in the Atlantic Basin, while Hawaii has been hit by, or barely avoided, four hurricanes!

  I find that an AM radio to be a good lightning detector, you may not see it or hear the thunder, but you will hear the crackle on the radio

  I have an app that reports on the hurricane events. Most I get report downgrades and the rest report “not to make landfall”. As hurricane seasons go, this one has been all bluff and no blunder I don’t &nbsp;care how hot the pacific was. And the Atlantic has been virtually devoid of any real activity. I remember years in the 50s and 60s when we got at least one gobsmacker and sometimes more than two or three.
