I have a major platonic crush on Lea Desandre. She makes me happy. I feel/intuit/believe that she is not acting. She really is that happy when she is acting happy, and she really is that profound when she is singing profound music. I have been a classical music freakazoid for the past 63 years, and have pretty much avoided opera and other classical voice music. But I saw her once recently, and she instantly made me a believer, and a supporter, and an admirer. May God bless this incredible gift to the human race!

It's like a curse: You can never make a critical comment (okay, admittedly, why would you), but every time this ensemble creates a form of perfection that acts from the very beginning as if it were the most normal thing in the world, and as if they weren't striving for perfection at all, but simply wanted to convey their joy in music. Perhaps that's the most beautiful kind of perfection; you don't notice it superficially, but simply feel happy in your heart. Thank you.

When I was singing in choirs, I hated melismas with a passion. Lea sings them effortlessly and has a giant smile on her face whilst doing it, and I wonder where I went wrong 😝😂

Purcell brought wonderfully to life by these marvellous musicians. What a pity his music is not more frequently performed, even in his own England. Purcell wrote so much superb music, and with such a distinctive voice, but little of it is heard and performed live these days.

I have now listened to this piece of music dozens of times with certainty. It makes me happy every single time, as the music of Lea Desandre and Thomas Dunford always does. I was also lucky enough to hear this new program live already. It was heavenly!
