The World's Most Forgotten Country: Madagascar 🇲🇬

Madagascar: The World’s Most Forgotten Country? 🇲🇬 Join me on a journey through Madagascar, one of the most fascinating and unique countries in Africa, as I travel from Antananarivo (Tana) to Antsirabe and discover a side of Madagascar that tourists rarely see. In this Madagascar travel documentary, we leave the busy capital of Antananarivo and begin a road trip through the Malagasy highlands towards Antsirabe, meeting local people and discovering the traditions, craftsmanship and everyday life that make this island so extraordinary. Along the way, we unexpectedly come across a Famadihana celebration, one of Madagascar’s most fascinating cultural traditions. Famadihana, sometimes known as the “turning of the bones”, is a deeply significant Malagasy family tradition honouring ancestors and bringing generations together. Our journey continues through Ambatolampy, where we visit a local aluminium workshop and watch craftspeople transform recycled aluminium into everyday objects using traditional methods. We then travel onwards to Antsirabe, one of Madagascar’s best-known highland cities. Here we explore local streets and workshops, see how discarded zebu horns are recycled into handmade objects, visit Independence Avenue, experience a local funfair and spend time talking with our Malagasy guide about life in Madagascar. Beyond the extraordinary landscapes and wildlife Madagascar is famous for lies another story — the lives, traditions, creativity and resilience of the people who call this island home. This documentary isn’t about defining Madagascar. It’s about travelling through it, meeting its people and allowing the country to tell its own story. 🇲🇬 This is only the beginning of my journey through Madagascar. 🎬 Chapters 00:00 Introduction 01:26 An Unexpected Famadihana Celebration 05:42 Ambatolampy 07:23 Inside an Aluminium Workshop in Ambatolampy 11:44 The Road to Antsirabe 12:28 Lunch in Antsirabe 16:25 Zebu Horn Recycling & Local Workshops 19:04 Exploring Antsirabe & Independence Avenue 23:33 A Local Funfair 25:18 My Thoughts on Life in Madagascar If you enjoy travel documentaries, Madagascar travel, African travel, local culture, hidden destinations and discovering parts of the world beyond the usual tourist trail, subscribe and join me as I continue my journey through Madagascar and explore extraordinary destinations around the world. 🌍 Travel Documentaries with Hedea Discover incredible places, people, cultures, history and landscapes from around the world. 🇲🇬 Watch the Madagascar series: Madagascar 🇲🇬 — Madagascar 🇲🇬 📸 Let’s connect: Instagram: Instagram: hedeaa.aghdam Facebook: Facebook: hedeaa.aghdam #Madagascar #MadagascarTravel #TravelDocumentary #Antsirabe #Antananarivo #Famadihana #MadagascarDocumentary
