I had to reupload this video to clarify some issues, and in the process, I messed up the audio a tad in this one, as it is peaking, so my apologies for the audio. Hopefully, I eventually figure this YouTube thing out. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year!

Check out the books in the description if interested. Especially this one as it is a quick Read.
Frederick Douglass: https://amzn.to/4jElpMI

Stay blessed!

Men need to write more. It is not simply enough to read, but to respond with their own words. Writing is logic construction.

We need to make it "cool" to read again - as seemingly shallow as that sounds. I feel like people are waking up. More and more people I talk to are logging out or even completely deleting social media. Love your videos Rob!

"Sharing loud opinions based on shallow understandings." This is brilliant. Explains a lot of ignorant people. Well done sir.

I’m over 40 now. I used to read about 1 or 2 books a year. About 2.5 years ago, I decided to change that, and since then I’ve read more than 200 books, including the Bible. It’s been transformative for sure.

You’re making a difference Rob. My sons, nephews (early 20’s) and I (mid 50’s) have started a reading club. We wouldn’t consider ourselves academic but we’re giving it our best shot. We’ve covered The Hobbit and Beowulf. This month is The Stranger by Albert Camus. Thanks for the inspiration.

Read to your children until they begin reading on their own. Give them a love of reading. A love of reading is a powerful source of mental strength and depth of character.

I used to read a lot. Then I got into gaming, bought a PS4, and slowly stopped reading.
Last summer I went to Japan. While I was there, a friend encouraged me to go to the hospital because of my dystonia (it’s similar to Parkinson’s). They gave me medication that actually helped. After that, something shifted. I started writing my own book and without forcing it, I began drifting away from gaming and back toward reading.
Gaming is still fun, but reading started feeding something deeper in me.

This may sound strange, but reading builds a center that you can grow from. It creates an identity that includes learning from the mistakes of our predecessors. And to my mind, it helps but does not guarantee, our deliverance from evil.

We've become addicted to instant gratification with our games and whatnot, books help us develop patience, understanding, introspection, and exercises our critical thinking skills!

Much more thoughtful, less reactionary.

All the winters of my childhood were spent with great books, and most evenings.
