  That fungal network almost makes me feel like there&apos;s a scientific basis for the idea of &quot;mother earth&quot;. If aliens scanned for lifeforms, they&apos;d essentially see one huge living planet with a lot of other life living on top like a bunch of microbes.

  Fun fact: The Chinese bought the wild horses from captivity and released them into the desert to help restore the land and reduce desertification in China. Recent results show that the horses have pounded the sand and soil, helping it retain more moisture and reducing desertification.

  I remember getting my gardacil shots, they hurt soooo badly but then later, I worked in a laboratory that tests for HPV type 16 and 18. I learned about how it can develop into cancer, and I learned about Henrietta Lacks. Her cervical cancer cells are now called HeLa cells and they have helped in scientific research SO much and her terrible cancer is the reason I won’t be getting cervical cancer, at least not from HPV. The pain of the shots was worth it. Let’s not forget her name

  I think the story of electrification in Africa is the biggest, most exciting story to me. It&apos;s been wonderful to see how many of these nations are skipping the fossil fuel stage of development. Also, so easy for those of us in the Western, developed world to overlook how much our lives have been made comfortable and lengthened by simple things we take for granted -like refrigeration, indoor lighting, and electric stoves. Things can get better.
