19:46 Grimes taking the word “anti-imperialist” out of her bio has the same feeling of Google changing their “Don’t be evil” slogan

He's not just bringing her kid into the public eye, he's using his child's body to shield his head while he wears a bullet proof vest.

Musk grew up in Apartheid S. Africa. His grandfather was a member of the Canadian Neo N@zis. His schooling and social circles were rooted in white supremacy. His family was extremely wealthy by exploiting non existent labor laws to work natives to death for huge profits. He had a private driver, a private airplane and tens of millions in investments before he was 20. Musk was not "radicalized". He has always been what we see now. What he showed everyone before was nothing more than a sham persona meant to make him 'cooler'. Now he has all the power and he doesn't need to pretend.

"Power doesn’t always corrupt. Power always reveals. When you have enough power to do what you always wanted to do, then you see what the guy always wanted to do.”
Robert Caro

Elon trying to portrait Grimes as promiscuous when he has like 30 kids with 10 different women is some next-level mental gymnastics.

When Taylor said "X is obviously his [Elon's] favourite child" at first I thought she meant Twitter

We should probably analyze Grimes' position through a class-based lens. Like, being born (or even becoming) rich is alienating and brings a neoliberal/competitive view to everything. She exists within a world where real critique is basically non-existent, and people adopt Marxist imagery for rebelliousness, not because they actually have any experience with poverty or the inequity of imperialism.

That's not to say Grimes is silly or infantile, but she exists in a distinctly upper-class world, an environment that will never lend itself to true ally-ship with struggling groups. Fascism justifies the hierarchy the bourgeoisie adhere to.

This is my Grimes take. Grimes is a poster girl for the pipeline of hipster art trust fund turned technifascist. She is just like SXSW. SX started as an indy music fest and has become this.... beast of post modernity. I believe she is truly a creative and unique musician, however, she is an example of a niche art eating itself. She exemplifies naval gazing -neurodivergence-, where basically you obsessively special interest dig as far as you can into any and all subjects.... to wear them as a badge. When she speaks on a subject and starts in on a tangent I believe it is because she is privileged enough to literally sit around all day and consume information and espouse it back. And this can make someone interesting but mostly it makes a person lose touch with reality. I do not wish Musk on her. But she needs to take accountability for some of her actions. Like body shaming Banks. And admitting to creating up to a dozen sock puppet accounts where she pretended to be a nazi and move in nazi spaces online just to immerse herself in the culture to *check it out*. She majored in psychology and philosophy in college. I think that someone can be highly intelligent yet very ignorant at the same time. Geidi Primes and Halfaxa are excellent albums. She is clearly and interesting artist. But her, and Elon's obsession with cyberpunk cyborg fascism is a deal breaker.

1:14:22 "Ultimately, the biggest story here is not whether or not Grimes is a person who is redeemable, but rather that Elon Musk is a person who is currently unaccountable." 100%!!! Brilliantly summarized. Blown away.

Taylor’s take that abuse victims who have been love bombed believe the “true” version of the abuser is the version that love bombed them changed the chemical make up in my brain i think. I had never stepped back far enough to realize that, but yes definitely. I so appreciate that she said that.

49:38 the irony of elon portraying her as "sexually promiscuous" and then having 14 children with like 4 women is crazy

I just remember how Elon invited Sky Ferreira to be his date at the Met Gala a few years later and she was like, “No.”
