I'm exercising extreme caution with my confidence in this team. If we manhandle them in this game, I'll let my obnoxious confidence flow the rest of the season, but the Napier era PTSD is real.

The whole underdog tag people want the Gators to have is ridiculous. We arguably have the best Offence in College Football and fans think we can somehow hide it  and be taken lightly. I trust Coach Sumrall, not fans or pundits. He said the rankings are irrelevant, and they are. I like his attitude of focusing on the present opponent, and not looking backwards or forwards; only the present.

T J.  totally agree with you.  BUT for me personally.  I don't care where we start.  it's where we end up at the end of it...   GO GATORS

Last time Florida beat a top 5 team and scored over 50 was 1996 championship game vs FSU. They curb stomped them 52-20

The only sport that gets decided by polls. The answer is to have eight big conferences with two divisions each and a playoff game for the conference championship you get 16 teams that get a chance to play their way in no polls no opinions nothing.

The only way to fix this is to ban preseason polls.  In fact there should not be any polls until at least after the 4th week of the season, preferably even later.

I don’t care where we rank right now. There shouldn’t be any rankings until at least week 6 for all of college football. Then see where everyone stands based on their performance in game and schedule.

While others may have had comparable schedules, i dont think anyone else has handled it as well as Florida

Ranking this early for this young team is worrisome.   This is where the coach must manage this team through this unnecessary pressure.   One game at a time.  The team builds upon each game -- more experience, hopefully more confidence.  The downside is the publicity.  Can Sumrall keep the young men focused on what is important and not listen to all the noise.   At the last game, we can look back and see what this team has accomplished.
