I'm happy to be able to say that Mark Racop is a personal friend (if Youtube allowed it, I'd include pictures of him as a groomsman at our wedding).

Some details not discussed on the video; Mark tells how when he was a little fellow, he and his Dad would watch Batman. Mark loved the series, but he was especially drawn to the car. As any other child might tell their parents that they wanted to grow up to be a rodeo clown or a fireman, Mark told his Dad that he was going to build his OWN Batmobile when he grew up! And John, as any parent would do would say, "That's wonderful Son!" and didn't think anything more of it. Little did he know...

This car was ALSO part of how Mark met his wife Jill. As Mark tells it, he and his bunch of buddies were working on that Monte Carlo/Batmobile when Jill came riding down the street on her bike. She asks what they're doing and they explain, she starts helping and the rest is history! They've been married somewhere around 40 years.

Last point from ME: During your tour, you notice how comfortable Mark is speaking of all these things. He has no script, this is all information that he has memorized over the years. Before Mark had opened the museum, my wife and I were visiting at "Fiberglass Freaks Batmobile Replicas" (which is a couple of blocks from the museum property). Mark was on the phone with a potential client for a replica. This guy is rapid firing questions about details of the original Barris-built car, trying to catch Mark in a mistake. Mark is (again, no reference material, all from memory) answering every one with no hesitation! Things like "What tires and rims were used on the car?" "What was the displacement of the engine?" "What was the wheelbase?" If I recall correctly, he EVEN asked what the VIN was? Trick question! As the original Futura was a CONCEPT car and was never intended for production, it didn't HAVE a VIN number!

Mark was smiling the whole time. He knew what the guy was trying to do!

Wow man, I've never been to anything like that but if I could travel, I would definitely visit this guy's place. I'm almost 70 years old and I remember the Batman television show and all the goofy and funny stuff. It was a dream come true for me as I was about 10 years old when the show aired and was so disappointed when they cancelled it. The guy who made this attraction is a true hero for fans of the old show.

Thrill of my and my husband's life is 6:05 meeting Adam West and getting a photo with him and getting his autograph. He was visiting in Spokane WA in the late 1980's. I talked to him for a few minutes. We had relatives from Walla Walla. My Dad grew up there and so did Adam West. My Dad and him were about the same age in Walla Walla. Boy was he tall! Nice man. 😊

One of these days I'll have to open a museum, because I have one of the biggest Batman collections ever. 😁

I have oil paintings by artist Mike Nesloney (Batman, Batgirl, Batman and Robin in the Batmobile, and Batman & Robin with Batgirl leaning on the Batmobile). Someone once said "That's a lot of Batman paintings," and I said "It's not enough." Will definitely seek out this museum the next time we're in Indiana. (Probably soon.)

I'm glad Bill Finger is finally being recognized for his immeasurable contributions to Batman. Everything great about the character came from Bill. Though "the batcave" originated in the 1940s serial from Columbia Pictures, not Bill Finger.

That guy seems like the nicest guy in the world. What a great museum especially if you’re a boomer. The tv show was iconic. As a young boy in the 60’s, I couldn’t wait for the new shows every week. I hope to someday make it out there to the museum myself. Thanks for posting this video

I’ve watched a few videos with Mark featured in them before and I always enjoy his vast knowledge. Batman Forever is and always will be my favorite Batman film, but the TV Series holds such a special place for me. I LOVE Every single one of the 120 episodes. Season 3 is very underrated in my opinion. Particularly the King Tut episodes in S3 which focus heavily on his discovery of the true identity of Batman! Thanks for the great video!
