I had Prof. Filippenko at Cal for ASTC10 for my undergrad in 2010. He's extremely passionate and his teaching style is out of this world amazing. Definitely one of the reasons for me completing my PhD program. He was also my supervisor for a whopping week, and injected me with valuable knowledge for my dissertation. He's a rock star!

I had the absolute pleasure to listen to this man speak in person while taking his Intro to Astronomy Course at Berkeley. My favorite moment was during Halloween, where he dressed up as a black hole and threw out candy during the lecture to mimic Hawking Radiation

When this man smiles, he looks to me very much like Robin Williams.

Alex was my favorite presenter of the old 2000s space shows. He always seemed to have genuine enthusiasm about the secrets of the universe

I'm a year late to this but this has to be one of my fave Lex podcasts. Alex is so engaging and has a knack of explaining abstract concepts to the average Joe like myself. Absolutely loved this one ❤️

Best professor I had at Berkeley! His instruction led to a life-long interest and understanding of the nature and mechanics of the universe.

Alex is one of the greatest educators of our time. In every lecture he shows you the importance of having a passion for what you do. You’ll love life and have endless energy that’s transmitted in a smile. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll win a Nobel Prize!
