HW! That “more cowbell” skit should read “more PRS”! I’m loving your newfound love for PRS. Such a great company making great products. And as you spoke on recently, their innovation is unmatched (imho). Love the NF53se. - Drew

Great insights into the various modelers. I went from modelers back to all tube amps but have been considering a modeler for the amps I don't want to invest in but have available.

QC native would be amazing. Best part of the plugins on qc is the option to use them in the studio where you can change the parameters after recording without reamping then port that finished tone to QC. Would be awesome to that with amps only on the qc and make the whole ecosystem full circle.

I agree with you on the stadium fx. One of the early interviews just before launch of the stadium proxy Eric mentioned a wish to give the fx the agora methodology. I’m rooting for that.

Thanks for the hat - it puts your worldview right out there front and center.

    Love the hat! Indeed!

Comparing the modulation/reverbs/delays between tonex and qc and fractal... Is what I need now. Because as far as Amp Sim is concern now it's just up to personal preference. Tks for the video

My prediction for Kemper is that it may eventually follow a very similar path to the Access Virus.
And I say that as a long-time Kemper user who still owns a Stage MK1.
The original Profiler was genuinely revolutionary. Kemper basically created this whole category long before capturing became mainstream. But looking at the market today, I’m disappointed by how conservative the MK2 hardware feels.
Yes, there is more processing power, more FX slots, faster operation and Profiling 2.0 is clearly a real technical development. But to me, the MK2 still feels much more like an evolution of the original platform than a true next-generation Kemper.
That reminds me a lot of what happened with the Access Virus. Christoph Kemper created another groundbreaking digital product, the Virus became hugely successful, the TI2 arrived in 2009 – and then there was never a real next-generation TI3. The platform remained relevant for years, but eventually the rest of the market moved on and production ended.
I could see Kemper heading down a similar road.
The problem is not that Kemper suddenly sounds bad. It still sounds excellent. The problem is that capturing itself is no longer the differentiator it was in 2011. Neural DSP, ToneX, NAM and others have changed the landscape dramatically, while traditional modeling is getting better at the same time. The future probably belongs to platforms that combine both worlds: extremely accurate captures AND deep, flexible component-level modeling.
Kemper invented the game. I’m just not convinced that refining the same basic platform indefinitely will be enough to keep winning it.
I’d genuinely love to be proven wrong.

The AM4 delivers a lot for the money, especially with the support that they give you. That’s a big difference historically between Fractal and Headrush, where Headrush has basically offered few updates once a unit has been released. I’ve held off on any of these units in favor of my pedals, which offer unique organic voicing on the drives, fuzzes, and spring reverbs that the algorithms just can’t currently emulate faithfully yet. However, if there was one company that I am keeping an eye on it’s Fractal. But first I want to see what the next version of the FM3 and FM9 looks like and how the AM4 is supported. If I’m going to replace my whole board, it really has to at least match what I already have quality-wise and then improve on workflow and ease-of-use in terms of form factor. I’m not interested in getting rid of my pedals only to replace it with essentially another big pedal that’s doesn’t sound as good a my existing pedals and still requires me to bring along a separate expression pedal and a specialty power connection andsupply. Give me something that is similar to the Valeton GP-200 all-in-one form factor with the effects and build quality of Fractal and the IEC power connector instead of a delicate barrel connector.

The logical progression is making these units more power computers, so that you can run multiple NAM and effects NAMs in parallel. They've already exhausted the current path to the point where everything is incredible.
