He gets better at standing up. He spirals down, he disassociates. He hit the utter bottom pit... And he meets new people, he learns not trust and love his friends again... And he gets better. And it&apos;s SLOW!!! A lot of people don&apos;t read Berserk because it&apos;s a downer... But if you give it time you realise, the story as a whole is incredibly hopeful in the end. (Although the world is extremely bleak)
