Anyone else binge watching James Hargreaves Oasis videos in the build up to Oasis Live25? Great content.

The media started promoting The Spice Girls and Robbie Williams around that time, all that 'Girl Power' nonsense started coming into the mainstream. It's like the tabloids which were huge then before the internet took over, had jumped on the indie and Brit pop thing with Oasis and Blur in the mid 90s but it wasn't sustainable long term with proper bands so they took the idea of 'Cool Britannia' and superimposed it onto manufactured easily manageable fluff like The Spice Girls and Williams. That was the beginning of the decline that led to Simon Cowell and youth culture being corporate media controlled.

Can you imagine a record selling 200,000 copies a week nowadays? That’s just insane.

Thanks, mate! TFIF was the highlight of my week, back in my 20s. Thanks for taking me back there, if only for 17 minutes. Much appreciated.

Imagine Chris Evans deciding who is cool.

I remember in April 1996, the Easter episode was filmed in Chris Evans' house... Chris tried to get Noel to play... That's very true - back in 1996 they were huge

I've got a mate who runs a cracking record shop and the only thing we've talked about for almost 30 years is Be Here Now. He's the best friend you could ever want.

An interesting thing that you may or may not know is that David Holmes album "Let's Get Killed" was released on the same day which affected sales of a landmark album ridiculously.
