I enjoy watching your videos . I have retired from CATV outside plant after doing 10 years of strictly installation work. You are text level where I retired and I is refreshing to see the younger guy and their level of the COMMUNICATION world . Going thru walls to fish , I used automotive brake line and drilled the EYE hole in it. I was all aerial plant , no 1000 fish real needed . Keep up the great work.

Wow, quite literally dropped. Glad it didn't look like it caused too many issues.

Burying a drop BEFORE splicing the NID?! Love it. Our local Fiber company does the install, and then someone comes back 1-14 days later to bury it. In fact I've seen them run cables across driveways and tell people it's okay to drive over them, which just seems crazy. Then again, they don't get buried all that deep, and our landscapers use a riding lawn mower. I'm always paranoid that they'll cause a compression fracture of the fiber or something. Or am I overthinking it? I really wish they would use conduit... Also the guy nicked a power line going to a sprinkler valve. Fortunately I was able to put a tracer on the line and identify the break point and unearth it myself without destroying the fiber.

Keep up the good work. I have a ton of respect for what you do and really enjoy watching your videos! When I was a like 10-12 years old I was fascinated by telecommunications and the internet (It was 1995 / 96 / 97). I used to ride my bike around my neighborhood hoping to find a telecommunications tech working at a box. They loved that I showed such interest in their work and most of them enjoyed talking to me. I remember one told me I only needed a 7/16th socket to open the box... Another told me the phone number of an automated phone service, that would read out the phone number of the line you were on. Good times. Heck even a few would give me old gear they didn't need... I scored a few tone generators and probes that way.

What a frustrating install. Maybe a fiber reaper would do good for holding foscs to the tailgate
