Generally, optical communication technicians in Korea are prohibited from using ladders due to safety regulations regarding workplace accidents. Instead, they use bucket trucks to perform their work safely, and safety signalers are stationed nearby. Crucially, because there is heavy traffic, they cannot simply step out of the designated work zone; accidents caused by others—including falls and fatalities—are a significant risk. My company has switched to the back fed ONTs that have to be mounted on an electrical box, so i have been having to cut huge holes in customers walls just so the can mount the ONT, i think they switch because customers were damaging the fibers too often
