"Unfortunately, your blade did not withstand a full on assault from the Incredible Hulk. This is a catastrophic failure, and for that reason, you cannot continue in this competition."

That flex test was more nerve racking then I was expecting.

“Now then, to test how durable your weapons are we will be launching a thermonuclear bomb directly on top of each” five minutes later “well unfortunately for some reason your weapon will not cut”

Two men on battlefield, one bends his sword and comments, " sir, I have had a catastrophic failure of my blade and cant allow myself to continue with an inferior hardened weapon and must leave the battle.

Rules for winning Forged in Fire:
1. Use spring steel stock. Don't do Damascus/pattern welded steel.
2. Make your weapon as light as reasonably possible.
3. Make sure your handle is rounded and comfortable.
4. Get the heat treatment right.
5. Put some kind of shock-absorbing material in the handle.

these strength tests are bananas. its like something cold steel would do in their marketing. i could not believe how far those swords bent without snapping. was almost 90 degrees. both were very well made.

Is it just me or is the flex test secretly insanely dangerous

They always seem to give up on weapons too easily.
"Your blade did reflect the sun into my eye a little bit too much. This is a catastrophic failure, and for that reason can no longer test your weapon."

If I were the judges, I’d wear a full suit of plate armor while doing that wheel test.
