  Beating mom is the same as beating gundyr in dark souls 3, you completed the tutorial and now the fun part starts.

  Rebirth is not the &quot;wrong edition&quot; to buy. It&apos;s the base game. And while the base game is good, it gets much better in later patches that are part of DLCs. For some reason these improvements were never backported so essentially you&apos;re on an 11 years old patch of the game. That being said if your goal was to win one or two runs I&apos;d argue it&apos;s not worth buying the DLCs. <br><br>By the way if your goal was to &quot;beat&quot; the game then it depends on what your definition of beating the game is. I think a lot of people would count killing one of the final bosses as beating the entire game so in the case of Rebirth there&apos;s only one that&apos;d normally be available after winning at least like 15 runs.<br><br>All that being said beating Mom in just over 1h on a blind playthrough is genuinely quite impressive. This game does not look like it but it&apos;s really quite hard.
