  Being from the UK, I&apos;m always amused by the general view of Americans that The Beatles phenomenon began in 1964. The Beatles were already huge in Europe and elsewhere in the world before they ever went to the USA. <br>In fact, the Americans were pretty much the last ones to notice The Beatles.<br>The UK edition of &quot;She Loves You&quot; was released in August 1963 and went straight to #1. It was also a huge hit in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, West Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Canada, and many other territories, long before America caught on to what the rest of the world already knew.

  True story - In mid-1963, when they first played this song for their producer, George Martin, he objected to the final chord.<br><br>Martin, who had a formal classical music background and was used to the conventions of Tin Pan Alley/pop songwriting of the era, objected to the ending. He felt it was harmonically &quot;wrong&quot; or unresolved — specifically, he didn&apos;t like ending on what he perceived as a suspended or added-sixth chord (the famous G6 chord in the key of G major at the close). In the pop and classical traditions he knew best, songs were expected to resolve cleanly to the tonic chord (a plain G major in this case).<br><br>The Beatles told him &quot;Sorry, George, but you&apos;re wrong.&quot;<br><br>There were two singles, but that makes 4 singles sides. &nbsp;One was &quot;She Loves You.&quot; &nbsp;The remaining 3 singles sides are:<br><br>&quot;From Me to You&quot;<br>“Thank You Girl” <br>“I’ll Get You”

  I love it every time I hear Carol say in Spanish: “Un momento por favor.”<br><br>Guys, between the Beatles’ first album, Please Please Me, and the second, With the Beatles, the official British singles that were released —in chronological order— were “From Me to You” / “Thank You Girl”, released on April 11, 1963, and “She Loves You” / “I’ll Get You”, released on August 23, 1963. It’s impressive how, in such a short time, you can already appreciate the band’s creative evolution with each release.<br><br>Now, as a cultural side note, outside the United Kingdom the situation was much more chaotic, because in the United States and other countries different record labels released or attempted to release material without following the official British order. During the same period, labels such as Vee-Jay released singles like “Please Please Me” with “Ask Me Why” as the B-side, and also issued “From Me to You”, while Swan Records even released “She Loves You” in the U.S. after it had initially been rejected by Capitol. These releases did not add new songs compared to the British catalogue, but rather reused existing material, although they did contribute to songs like “Ask Me Why” circulating outside the UK, even though it was not part of the British singles of that era.<br><br>Taken together, this shows two very different realities: on one hand, the clear and orderly British chronology that reflects the band’s artistic evolution, and on the other, a fragmented and disorganized international distribution that nevertheless helped expand the Beatles phenomenon even before the global explosion of Beatlemania.<br><br>Greetings from Mexico City

  After the recording session, a single (7&quot;) sided acetate was cut. Geoff Emerick their studio technician (with a portable record player &apos;in hand&apos;) rushed upstairs to the office in Abbey Road studios shouting to the girls, &quot;you&apos;ve just gotta hear this&quot;. My late aunt was one of those &apos;girls&apos; typing up the press release for what would be their next single.
