I like how the Chocobo doesn’t know what’s going on but seems happy to be there

What if you spent so much of your life coming up with a plan to resurrect a god, and used the Zodiac Stones to turn into a powerful demon monster, but some kid said “big fire chicken”?

I played tactics on the original playstation as a kid, even to this day, the opening credits and accompanying theme literally bring tears of joy to my eyes. Literally my favorite game of all time.

I love the fact you brought up Tietra and Deleta being their adopted siblings.

Something to note is that you read the in game codex during ch 2, it reveals that elmdore actually died in between ch 1 and 2, and it’s his corpse that is possessed, which I always felt was fitting considering all his undeath abilities

I'm glad I'm one of the 12 nice people who likes ff5. My shirtless old man monk, Galuf, is great.

This was amazing. However the braves were part of the core religion of the church, and you kill their literal God at the end of it. Which is why it was called the zodiac brave story.

Fun fact. Ovelia did 'not' die after Delita stabbed her back in self defense. According to the game's writer via a tweet response on that very question, he clarified that she died later on for under different circumstances.
... On closer inspection of rewatching that scene, It looks like Delita just knocked her out and not stabbed her.
Also, considering his actions in faking ppl's death and not killing them just to let them make a clean break of the messy cloak and dagger shit he was up to, I wouldn't put it past him to do the same for Ovelia even if she hates him for 'using her'.. I mean, I won't say he wasn't, but I do think his relationship was far more complicated and gray than that. If nothing else, he did seem to genuinely care for her and never truly disavowed his friendship with Ramza... or his memories of Tietra.
Frankly, I dunno how else to view him than as a pretty accurate representation of a 'hero of the times' who is never as good or as evil as the history books point him out to be. He was simply a man who wanted to change things for the better. You might fault him for his choices, but I dunno if I could, really.

31:40 that is one of the most classic boss battles.
