  I can picture a cheesy 80s commercial with a girl bragging about this 'Boy' she's been talking to, only to reveal it's the Game Boy.

  If you look at Nintendo’s museum, the prototype DS has a Game Boy logo on it. It will always be a Game Boy to me.

  The fact that I STILL hear older people call any sort of handheld system a "gameboy" speaks volumes to the impact this line had lol

  Nintendo has a funny habit of creating an iconic handheld system legacy, introduce a completely new handheld meant to be the replacement more or less, say “no no it’s a third pillar we’re still supporting the older one”, pumping out a new model and letting it slowly die for a few years before retiring the name entirely. It’s happened twice now

  Ngl, I miss Nintendo’s “Game-whatever” naming convention era.<br><br>Game &amp; Watch, Game Boy (Color, Pocket, Light, Advance), even the GameCube felt like it was unofficially part of the brand since it had the same font as GBA.

  I loved the Game Boy. Heck I still love it. It was the first game system that was just mine. I didn&apos;t have to share it or wait until the NES and TV were available. I had my little carrying case with my Game Boy, game cartridges, and extra batteries just in case the ones in the Game Boy ran out. We had a big floor lamp in our living room and I spent countless hours sitting next to that lamp playing my Gameboy. Oh great now I&apos;m getting emotional over a video game system.
