  I appreciate the spoiler at the beginning. I like that Meat Eater does videos where the hunt is unsuccessful, but also it's kind of nice to know going in to know what's going to happen (or not happen)

  My wife bought me a battery powered vest a few years ago. It&apos;s been a game changer. Turn it on when you get chilly, turn it off when you&apos;re warm. Heating elements in the pockets for your hands. Never hunting another way again.

  From a fellow midwestern (Iowa) bow hunter. This video is exactly what bow hunting is. The unexpected challenges, the change of plans, playing the wind, rattling enough but not too much and the list goes on. Hunting is not about the kill. It&apos;s about the process, the &quot;almost&quot; moments. The kill is only 10 seconds, the process can take days to years. That&apos;s hunting.

  Its so encouraging to see a hunt that goes like this. Every year I get a bit down after a few outings without adding to the freezer. At least you are seeing some deer here

  I used to set my thumb button really light, then I let down one time to get a better shot at a doe. Brushed the button on my coat and sent an arrow 15 feet up in the tree next to me. The doe got away that day. Took quite a bit of work to get the broadhead out of the trunk.

  Lol, bet Clay laughed uncomfortably and looked around as if his peers were judging him by reading such a text. I on the other hand laughed out loud when you cut that arrow loose. Love this time of year!

  Janis setting sticks on the tree when its just cracking daylight makes me feel a tiny bit better about my mornings scrambling to get setup….when i swear i planned to be there with plenty of time to spare😂
