"i don't have time for games" is an extremely funny thing to say after doing an entire mock trial just because a visitor nodded off

Failure to attend court is one thing but locking up the victim is a whole other

If that example were my kid, I right or wrong, I would be outraged and submit a dozen complaints. I didn't give my child's school permission to restrain her, especially not for something so frivolous as a random man's power trip. Where is the adult supervision on this field trip? How did they let this happen?

As a lawyer, you may like the prison uniform stunt.
As a teacher who has to keep the mental well-being of the students in mind, I'm horrified by it. Not just because of what's being done to the student in that moment, but also because of what will follow in the months and maybe years after. Because that student will always be bullied an harassed as "jail kid" or other nonsense. That guy just made that student HATE the judiciary.

If any child of mine was changed into a jail uniform, handcuffed, and marched out in front of her classmates to be humiliated I would be hiring a lawyer and filing a lawsuit. The most he should’ve done was lecture the girl about how important it is to respect the law and had her apologize. Having her marched out in front of her classmates in a jail uniform is a clear power trip and could be potentially traumatizing to the child. If he wanted that 15 year old girl to respect the court and/or the law he would’ve had a meaningful conversation with her and asked her why she fell asleep. There could be so many different things going on in her life that cause her to miss out on sleep and berating her about dozing off is only going to do more harm than good.

Punishing that woman who's going through it from DA is 100% the reason why some women won't report DA.

I recall the first story. These weren't troubled kids that needed to be scared straight. They were normal HS students on a field trip to learn about our justice system from a judge. Importantly, court was not in session even though it took place in court, and the judge was not there for any judicial function or purpose. The kids walked out of there with less respect for the system, not more. Sad that her peers thought it was funnier to pile on than to stand up for her.

Demanding respect by disrespecting someone is not gonna make them learn genuine respect, it’s just gonna make them resent you. We have no idea what she could be dealing with in her personal life that could be why she wasn’t able to get a good night’s sleep that night before, and now she’s being humiliated for something as human as being tired as an observer on a class field trip. He way overstepped and I’m glad that he faced the consequences for that

The way that judge treated the victim of domestic violence literally made me sick to my stomach. She's the victim here! She's obviously traumatized and depressed and just wants to put this behind her. She did not choose to be a victim. To lock her up for three days for missing court when she's literally the victim is completely outrageous given the circumstances (all of which the victim explained). Have some damn compassion and empathy. SMDH.

"you don't know what anxiety is" to a DV victim who's homeless and clearly in a mental health crisis is why that evil judge should be banned for life.

Judge Collin’s is absolutely heartless and disgusting. “You haven’t even seen anxiety” “If is was true then why didn’t you testify??” “Why did you want to drop the charges???”

The judge is the one that should be taking the class on domestic abuse.

Putting her in cuffs was probably an issue she could have chosen to litigate.
