I have always been curious about the world, but never thought it applied to relationships! I talked my wife into marring me by saying, "Lets see where this adventure takes us, we can grow up together". That was 56 years ago. I now understand why people seem to trust me easily. I am sincerely interested in them. I have long heard how dealing with conflict by asking, tell me so I can understand your position, helps the situation. Now It makes sense! It is not a diversion, it is a deeper, I care and want to find out more. What a difference! Thank you!!!!

I’m 86 recently suffered the death of my adult son, age 63… I’ve delved into many different Crafts, including embroidery, crochet, slow stitching collage, I started playing my piano again. I’ve also started writing my devotionals down every morning, and I have to say doing all these different things do the writing and reading new music and practicing my piano has made a positive impact upon my brain, I can play better, I think better and things are just different. I’m truly amazed and truly advocate for doing and trying anything you’re interested in something totally different, to improve your brains function.

How to train doctors that "you are just getting older" is an unsatisfactory explanation of why I have a condition?

One slight quibble: We're not the only animal that experiences curiosity. Think of your pet exploring the new house when you move, or bees exploring for new nectar sources. What would you expect if you gave the tubular toy to a chimpanzee?

So interesting, thank you so much for this information! I consider myself an eternal student of life and I do believe it makes a huge difference to the way I move through my life. My life seems quiet and uninteresting to some, but there is just so much to know if you just observe, ask and explore with a curious mind 💫

I'm an insanely curious person. That statement isn't an exaggeration. I can obsess over a topic once a question pops into my head.

Curiosity leads to a compulsive desire to learn all I can about a subject. Curiosity also allows me to absorb much more information than I would if, let's say, I'm learning something required, as opposed to desired.

I am curious about so many things it drives me nuts at times. I don't know if that has helped prevent dementia but I do know that exercise, sleep, and diet are critical to preventing or delaying dementia. I'm 82 and a couple of years ago I could barely remember my name due to repeated cardiac arrests that lasted minutes and deprived my brain of oxygen. During the pandemic, I spent a lot of time learning as much as I could about how to sharpen my memory. That led to gradual lifestyle changes which I'm still making. As a result, I no longer need notes to tell me what I need to do each day. The less refined sugar I eat, the more exercise I get, and the better my sleep, the more my memory improves. Fortunately, lack of curiosity has never been an issue for me which is why I earned degrees in multiple subjects.

So, maybe curiosity DIDN'T kill the cat! Enjoy your videos so much as they are regarding items I am curious about indeed! Now, as far as this video on curiosity - all teachers, and I mean ALL, need to hear and see this video! We are so often entrenched in testing and scores, curiosity for the students (and sadly us) is indeed lost. Embedding curiosity into daily lessons should be a requirement. Thank you for your work and curiosity!

Totally get it. Worked on appliances for fifteen years, and the conclusion I came to was that it is all about getting it down tha assembly line just as quickly as they can. No thought of what it would take to fix it. So when a repair person has to charge a lot more because of all the extra work to get to the part that needs replacement, it increases the odds that the owner will just buy a new unit.
