I sincerely dont know if anyone at Wigmore will read this, I know it is an older video but I literally became a pianist/composer because of Andras Schiff's lecture recital cycle on the Beethoven Sonatas back in 2004-06. I went down a pretty predictable rabbithole from falling in love with the C# minor sonata at 13 to discovering those lectures on forums and realizing that this was something I needed to be able to participate in. Hugest thanks to Sir Andras Schiff and whoever at Wigmore is responsible for making these happen.

i've been listening to masterclasses by all of the greats lately and no one can touch the depth and clarity of schiff's discussions. what a god among men and a treasure to us all.

Just heard his recital last night in Guangzhou, the most amazing and memorable recital I have ever heard, not least for his record breaking 10 encores, but above all for his playing of schubert that makes the time still.

About the function of the trill at the keyboard...<br>It is the same function that vibrato has with the voice.<br>It was explained to me like this:<br>If you put your hand on your beloved's knee, after a time, she/he will forget that it is lying there.<br>But if you keep patting the knee, there will be no forgetting!

If only Schubert would see that from heaven. András Schiff, you are a treasure.

I did not know about Andres Schiff, but I am studying music and was looking around for a pianist that interpreted composers at the highest level. Each time I hear Mr. Schiff I grow more and more appreciative. Composers need interpreters that feel them deeply and have cultivated the technique to do them justice. Mr Schiff has made that commitment. I am sure they are watching from above with great affection. ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️

Having watched a few videos with Sir András now, I am staggered at the lengths to which he goes, not just to play his music but to share his knowledge with us. What a treat to be able to attend his concerts. Nga mihi nui, Sir András, from aotearoa.
