Quick note for the curious: When I said fewer people have reached the Challenger Deep than the Moon, that was true for decades. In recent years, thanks to new expeditions, the Challenger Deep has seen more visitors, though it’s still one of the rarest places any human has ever been. The point remains; it’s harder to reach than space.
