  A bizarre twist to the story is all 3: Wilde, Lord Douglas, and his Father, all converted to Catholicism before their deaths.

  Why does to some extent, "The picture of Dorian Gray" reminds me of Goethes "Faust"? Both of them make an agreement with the devil, Dorian for staying always young and Faust for wisdom and knowledge at the cost of immortality ... At the end both fail and both being the victim of their own vanity ...

  People need to read Franny Moyle's book on poor Constance. Spooky - and very Irish - how she visited him in his dreams as she was dying. It's nicely done in Rupert Everett's GENIUS film 'The Happy Prince' which shows Wilde's kindess, pathos and cruelty which is a must-see.
