The story of Jimmy Governor is quite well known in Australia esp amongst the older generations. A movie was made about this tragedy. Its called The Chant of Jimmy Governor and it was basically portrayed in truth. As you've stated he was terribly treated esp by his employees, wages stolen, violent discrimination etc,. Once he'd reached his breaking point as you know he slaughtered the family he worked for. I watched the movie just once, once was enough for me. The injustice, the violent graphic murder scenes shocked me to my core. I remember thinking I wish he'd spared the children, though given they'd grown up with the racist family I imagine they probably didn't treat him with respect either. All round there were no winners. Rest in Peace Jimmy. PS: I am a white skinned Australians who thinks injustice is injustice regardless of ones race or skin colour.

Christchurch, New Zealand here, sunny but cold 10C/50F. Interesting Aussie stories along with good historical photos. It would've been harder to solve crimes in those days without today's more advanced forensics.

So after it threw up the arm, was the shark okay?! Watching from the suburbs of Chicago in the US. A very muggy, nasty 67°F (19.4°C!) with rain predicted for most of the day. We recently had a heatwave here with several days of temperatures with a heat index of 100°F-105°F so this is a definite improvement! Great stories, I love the older ones like these.
