  I have been hammering the same points for years. It does not matter what works for someone else in someone else's room, and that includes the dealer's showroom. What is important is what works for you with your components and in your room. Your selections were well thought out based on your needs and budget and should bring you years of enjoyment.

  I've dreamed of owning a pair of Paradigms since the 90s.  Nice set up for sure.  Your passion for hifi definitely shows.

  Thanks for taking us through your system.  Looking forward to your next video on your speaker selection process.  I enjoy listening to other Hifi journeys and thought processes on equipment selection.  I too have a small room (even smaller than yours) but it’s also awkward shaped, narrow, and open to a hallway at one end.  I went the safe route with a pair of bookshelves with passive radiators that are forgiving with placement.

  same here my room is about 12 x 8 counting my album storage, with Klipsch Heresy speakers. I cant blast the music to much reflection but at the right level, it sounds great.. love your room..cheers

  Great to see an audiophile working in the constraints of a small room, I’m currently trying to find a better solution to house my HiFi that is not standard HiFi shelves, can also house vinyl and cope with a 25kg turntable in a similar sized room to yours. For you a turntable with two arms would be useful but hey, more space required 🤷‍♂️

  Really enjoyed this video. &nbsp;I always roll my eyes when I see someone reviewing speakers that are 6 or 7 feet tall, who lives in A 6,000 McMansion in the South. &nbsp;I live up in the New York area in a charming $1 million+ 95 year-old colonial hut! Every room my house is small! <br><br>Shelf space is a premium. &nbsp;Space for my records is a premium. &nbsp;Cannot accommodate speakers that need to be placed several feet from the wall. All of our rooms are shared multi-purpose rooms, but I still have managed to create listening areas that sound great for countless hours of enjoying music. &nbsp;My system images well. &nbsp;I find that often smaller speakers do a better job in a house like mine. &nbsp;They image quite well; sound stage is great. &nbsp;Buy gear that will work in a small space, not the audio showroom!.<br><br>Also, I am quite limited in the number of components I can accommodate. &nbsp;Separate amp and pre-amp. &nbsp;I am all tube in the downstairs den. &nbsp;However I purchased my preamp with a built-in photo section that can accommodate moving coil and moving magnet. &nbsp;Moot point as I have a high output moving coil cartridge that uses the moving magnet setting. &nbsp;Can save a significant amount of of space without an external phono amp.<br><br>Like you, I also listen to a lot of mono, jazz recordings, and even old Opera recordings. While you are quite creative in how you set up your separate head shells for mono and stereo cartridges, that is a bit of overkill. My mono recordings sound great on my stereo moving coil cartridge. &nbsp;I listen to both final and even old polystyrene LP. &nbsp;I would obviously have a separate mono, high compliance cartridge if I was listening to shellac 78s. Curious to know if your mono LPs sound better with your mono cartridge?! <br><br>Agree with one of the comments on this chat. &nbsp;If the hum is only in the phono section, it’s probably the ground wire. &nbsp;Also, I am not a huge believer in power conditioners. &nbsp;Just an extra set of wiring to put in the circuit. Maybe the hum will stop if you take out the line conditioner?! No need to worry about you McIntosh’s longevity. That thing is a tank and will probably outlive you and me!!! &nbsp;Also maybe a light fixture or ballast if you have fluorescent lighting?!<br><br>Sounds like your constraints are just like mine. Somehow, we figure out a way to enjoy the music!

  Thanks for the room overview. &nbsp;I too have den system in a room that is also small. &nbsp;I also went with a new turntable last year from Denon, the DP-3000NE. I went with this following your video on getting a table to change head shells as I also have a large number of mono records. &nbsp;I also have a dedicated large room (16x30) that is dedicated to music. &nbsp;I also put the same TT and Hana cartridges. &nbsp;Both rooms are PS Audio equipment.. I can tell you in my systems cables make a big difference, I am using Iconoclast cables (shout to my friend Bob Howard at Iconoclast. &nbsp;The other thing that makes a big difference is my power regenerator from PS Audio. &nbsp;Completely cleans the power. &nbsp;Thanks again. &nbsp;Tom

  Thank you for sharing your system with &quot;us.&quot; Your setup is thoughtful and clearly works for you. I am intrigued by your phono stage: the ability to adjust gain, impedance, and capacitance on the fly, and without having to mess around with dip switches, is the way to go. As are separate headshells for mono and stereo.
