  Mating only takes a few seconds to a couple of minutes. I guess were not so different afterall!

  I would wake up a morning or two a year in Port Huron, Michigan, a lot of years ago, and would hear a very distinctive sound as cars drove by in the morning. It was mayflies being squished by the thousands, loud enough to be heard from the street. Year after year, the streetlight outside my room was the favored place for them to land and be driven upon. It was disgusting.<br><br>Later in the day there was no evidence anything had ever happened. The birds would take care of all of it.
