13:06 The justifiable concern over those who steal from archaeological sites—sometimes known as nighthawks—is almost certainly the reason why the archaeologists' vans are unmarked.

46:50 Putting a home or a shop ontop of an already existing site is done for one reason and it has nothing to do with ancestors. The reason is the site has a proper foundation already in place that's ready to build on.. All the new builders see about the site is the walls that are visible above ground, they cannot tell if it is a graveyard or a home, they can see a solid foundation to build on. The reuse of a location is oft because it is a good location rather than religious.

Wow, the pictish blacksmithing hut is friggin awesome! Im a fitter/welder fabricator so the history of metal working has a special place in my heart and blacksmiths were revered as folks thought it was a magical process, so we be wizards!!!

Let me guess: You found it with a magnet?
Pardon my odd humour. I do love these archeological palaeontologist channels.

On the bit where Raksha was talking with the guy about the “horrors” the women and children saw. Its horrific for us to imagine, but that was just life for roman plebs. Also the families of roman soldiers where fully aware of the deal when they travelled with the cohort especially if it was a frontier posting like in england.

I can't get over the handprints on that anvil-stone. Fantastic!

I am a wood turner and for me this video has been fascinating to watch. I have a feeling that the wooden spindle with the lugs on both ends might actually be part of a treadle lathe which I think is what they would have used for wood turning.

I’ve spent years chasing answers in documentaries, podcasts, even ancient texts—and none of it hit me the way The Obscured Principles book by Dorian Caine did. It’s like it was written for the few who are ready to break the illusion and remember who they really are.

I think in neomesolithic reality, it started off as a home, became copper smith's neolithic tomb, evolved to burial mound.
