Even parents can be bullies too. They only set up their children to be bullied too. Not a good thing.

I did stop hanging out with a guy who was pretty mean to me for many years and it's like a huge weight lifted of my shoulders.

I’m at the point where they’re in my past & I have zero desire to ever deal with them again!! I have also adopted a strict policy of “NO PAST PEOPLE!!” Relationships, fake friendships, family & coworkers who were toxic! There is nobody from the past who is worth it & no one in the present or future worth losing myself for!

I came home from work one day to find a voicemail on my landline, it was a "friend" asking for yet another last minute favor, but she didnt hang up after the ask, then she proceeded to speak badly about me to the person she was with at the time. I was so shocked! I wrote down everything she said about me, and the things she claimed my "best friend" had said about me as well. Then when she called back again, I read it all back to her and asked her if that was what she really thought about me? and she doubled down!! So I let her go. I also tried talking to my "best friend" about it but she didn't deny it either so needless to say, I am not "friends" with them anymore. Did it hurt? yes, but it was the band aid that needed to be ripped off so I could finally see the truth, neither of them were really my friends. It was a one way street with me doing things for them, and they never thanked me, and now I know why, they were not really friends. Sad but true story

It's amazing how crap fitting works. I recently went through a crisis. And three of my friends decided to stop being my friends because I actually asked for help. They told me they were just my friends because I wouldn't ask for anything. Now that I want something, they will leave...I don't have family, and my "friends" knew. They just didn't care. And the rest of my "friends" were fine just watching me struggle. I thought I was going to die in the streets, alone. And no one helped me. One friend did offer help, but since she lives in another city, the help wasn't fitting. It's a shocking reality how I thought all these friends were great friends. Talk about crap fitting. Luckily I was able to save myself and am doing better now. But I didn't get much help. It's mind boggling.

I have to fight the urge to "over-love" the mean or abusive people. It was an effort to control them by rising above the negativity - but it just kept me wrapped in the mess in a different way. "No contact" was the only way to change my life.

My family members all put me down and were dismissive towards my feelings. I didn't realize how much they conditioned me to be abused and taken advantage of until my mid 30s

I'm slowly coming to the acceptance that making honest and real friends seems like an impossible tasks. I'm very hardworking and resilent. Every successful moments of my life was blind sided by persons devaluing my happiness or finding fault. I'm now very comfortable being without any close friends...there's simply no one to abuse or devalue me.
