  Bill Murray's friend is the real-life husband of the Dr (Kelly Lynch) and every time Bill sees this movie on TV he rings or texts the husband and says "Patrick Swayze is fucking your wife"

  That is the Jeff Healey Band at the Roadhouse. RIP Jeff. He doesn't want his Mercedes messed up, so he buys a beater car for cheep.

  This is a fun movie. A highlight of this film for guitar players and musicians is the late, great Jeff Healey. Blind from a very young age he taught himself to play guitar with his own, lap style technique. He was a great player and musician, cursed with various cancers from birth, who died too soon.

  Bouncers are known that way.. Mr T got noticed because he was a top bouncer, so did the undertaker.. many people are known in the bar scene as top guys, I was a head bouncer..

  In any service industry, there are known names. Bouncers, chefs, servers, whatever. Word gets around.

  It's definitely a modern-day western: The cowboy (Dalton) rides into town in a Mercedes Benz (instead of a horse) brandishing fists and a PhD in Philosophy (instead of a gun), and fighting the bads guys from a glitzy nightclub (instead of a saloon). Escapism (as most movies are) at its best...even if others may claim it's served with a side of 80's cheese!! Love this movie!! "And I thought you'd be bigger!!"

  I love how self aware this film is. I also love Ben Gazarra as the main villain. He’s just so quirky as a Chicago mobster, who apparently moves to rural Missouri  to shake down the 3 main businesses in town, but he brought in a JC Penney:)
