Just setup my first Haltec 3 only to realize I am a lone wolf in my area. Hopefully, more people will see this and get the mesh up around me.

I bought all my friends and family and neighbor heltec v3'a for Christmas this year. Figured I'd build my own network slowly.

I’m a total noob here, but what is stopping some philanthropist from buy a few hundred solar nodes and mounting them across the US in high altitude locations?

All I need are people who have one of these Meshtastic radios. I am on my own here, nobody around, very quiet. I haven't had a conversation with anyone yet.

Meshtastic has as big of a learning curve as traditional radios and walkie talkies. Start testing your antennas, learn the different connectors, and the difference between the ESP32 vs NRF based devices.

I heard about Meshtastic from Shawn Ryans podcast with Ryan Montgomery. Ordered a Heltec V3, case, better antenna and now apart of the mesh.

I have watched 3 or 4 videos on Meshtastic, and agree with those who comment that this one is the best they’ve encountered. What it has done is to convince ME that this is a technology with promise, but not quite ready for prime time. Catch you next year…

Recently updated my Bender and Nibbler cases to support the HeltecV4 but also completely re-invented Bender and added a power switch to Nibbler.

Nibbler is the smallest Heltec case with a power switch and clip.
