The traditional way of packing transformer coils to reduce magnetostriction noise/hum and potential internal shorts from vibration rub-off is to put the whole transformer under a vacuum, flood the coil with enamel, slowly go from vacuum to pressure to work the enamel all the way in, let excess drip, then cure the enamel to turn the whole transformer into a monolith. You would still see the coils but enamel that is the same stuff already on the magnet wire would likely be 10X more durable than CA glue. When I first saw pictures of the exposed coils that didn't look like they had any encapsulation on them, I immediately thought those were going to be a problem if that truly was how these were going to ship.

Yeahhhh I'm gonna wait 6 months on INDX and hope they work out all the kinks.

A more transparent solution should have been thought of before launch happened. They had the time with all the delays.

35 years of machining experience is my background... this is my recommendation, they should be making the hardened nozzles from M42 and do the same type of process as is used for making high-speed steel end mills and drills... if they would reach out to Sandvik and talk to them about what they are trying to accomplish they will help... if they don't want to go that route, they should then reach out to Greenleaf and talk to them about what they are trying to accomplish...

Honestly, the issues with the coil bother me more than the hardness of the nozzles. The way that the coils are engineered and manufactured doesn’t look like it will last. I’m seriously debating canceling my order.

I'll use what they sent me but when they get proper hardened nozzles produced send me a replacement set. I don't need the whole tool head, just the metal part and a new c-clip and I will swap them out myself

There is a couple of classes to this case-
For the founders who own and have ownership of an INDX-You get two options one you can get a coupon for the price difference between the hardened nozzle pricing and the standard nozzle for each tool you own. Or you have the option to get a replacement tool/nozzle sent to you at a 1:1 rate (of your choice) Simple for that says you have X Tools how many do you want replaced? Any you don't replace you get a coupon to use as you see fit.

For those who have not had theirs shipped yet I think a coupon code towards the purchase of a future nozzle (or whatever) commiserate to the price difference would be sufficient. Or the ability to cancel your order, or delay it until the nozzles are available to be swapped out.

Why on earth would you use CA glue instead of a high-temp epoxy or similar? This is bad materials engineering.

Between how they handled things pre launch, the horrible communication, fake launch and now bait and switch nozzles? Bondtech will never see another dime of my money.

It’s baffling to me how much they keep fucking up when they probably have the best solution on the market.
