Carrie is such a well written character in the sense that she makes you want to pull her out of the screen and just slap her 😭 her selfishness and poor decision making is infuriating

    Pretty sure Natasha pulled out of the event because she knew Carrie would be there, not because she was sick

    If it wasn’t for Miranda and Carrie, Samantha and Charlotte would neverrrrr be friends

    Miranda accepted the love she thought she deserved in Steve. She was so insecure about her perceived lack of femininity that she accepted love (read: attachment. I don’t believe for a second that man actually loved her) from someone who had nothing substantial (ie. intellectual stimulation, financial assistance, emotional maturity, common sense…) to offer her.

I hate that for her

Also, you’re absolutely gorgeous!

    Something I’ve thought about after my one millionth rewatch, is how Carries affair was just as much about Big as it was about Natasha. Natasha represented EVERYTHING Carrie knew she’d never be able to live up too. It wasn’t just about Big, it was about power and her crippling need to always have the upper hand. Carrie is used to be the untamed, mind blowing woman you never really get over, but she feels pressured by social expectations in contrast with her own personal needs and wants (because she’s so insecure). She doesn’t think she’s good enough for Aidan and she doesn’t think Natasha is wild enough for Big. She validates her beliefs about not being deserving of healthy relationships, whilst simultaneously dragging Natasha down from the pedestal in her head.

    Had the convo @52:00 w another YouTuber bc they were upset that their favorite author might be racist (hint: The Secret History) ;;

To be black is to engage with media at a compromise by default - we always have to find characteristics where we overlap with the characters, but it’s very rare that we’re actually thought of in a way that isn’t caricature 😮‍💨

    I actually don't think that Steve put his poopy underwear in the laundry basket because he sees Miranda as his mother. A more realistic reading to me is that he's that oblivious. He probably doesn't even know there is a skid mark on his underwear. Steve is clearly one of those guys who have issues with personal hygiene and those guys tend to be highly oblivious towards themselves and how they make people feel. Although there is a tendency for traditional hetero dynamics where gf is the mom and bf is her son basically 🤮
So maybe it's both actually.
