  My grandpa used to love comics when he was younger but agreed that the comics code ruined how original and unique the stories were. He unfortunately lost all his comics before I was born due to a flood. :(

  Man, there was a comic shop that carried these reprints when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s, and I couldn't get enough of them. Great video.

  In England the banned "horror " comics under the Children & Young Persons (Harmful Publications) Act 1955: the last time it was invoked was in 1976 when a comic called "Action!" Was prosecuted.

  Old timer here. I remember the bubble gum trading cards of the time. There was "Mars Attacks" the inspiration for the film decades later. There was also a Civil War series in the early sixties, cashing in on the Centennial. Both series were filled with splatter horror; death rays melting dogs and Earthlings on one hand, and cannon shot decapitations on the other.  Most of the horror comics were tales of obsessed scientists or cheating spouses getting their just desserts. Perfect fare for the twelve year old male demographic.

  I was a poor kid. I grew up on the discount bags of comics with the covers torn off. I always chose the WAR and Horror type of packs - Charlton mostly, I guess. Some of those stories really freaked my kid brain LOL. Later, I became a DC fan, then even a partner in a comics/hobby store. But I never lost my love of those weird old titles. Thanks for the memories!

  Awesome! I’m 63, and I have almost all my old .12<br>Cent, .15 cent and .25 cent comics from 1967-1975-ish. Great memories!!!! <br>I remember in 1969 when comics went from .12 cents to .15 cents, all of us kids were in shock!!!! We couldn’t believe comics were raised to the astronomical price of .15 cents!!!😂

  I had a collection of 3D comics by Basil Wolverton. They came with the red/blue goggles and the stories really benefitted from being in 3D

  My dad used to have loads of these old comics and loved the horror genre even before it was fashionable. I always love Poe and Lovecraft both for the breadth of their imagination and amazing vocabularies.

  Interesting book. I&apos;ve never seen it before. Love that Wolverton story. He did great humor, SF, and horror stories. I&apos;ve done a few episodes on Wolverton before. Great stuff.
