280lb defence going on a breakaway on a 5/3 penalty kill was a spectacle.

"I was never in shape" is a great acknowledgement 😅

You should have included Jeff Marek’s great story about Buff.

After an off season skate another player said to him “if you really focussed on training and pushing it, you could win multiple cups and makes 10’s of millions.”
Big Buff cracked a beer and said “Nah, I think I’ll just see how the far the skill takes me”

The Jets have had a serious identity crisis since Buff stepped aside in 2020

One of my favorite players ever. Dude was an absolute monster. Nobody hits like he could any more, and he was surprisingly clean with that violence.

Seeing him play I don’t believe that he never loved hockey. I think he felt himself slowing down and just quit early before it got worse

I played against Buf and then worked in the front office for the blackhawks while he was there, the guy was an absolute monster in AAA/minor hockey. But one of the nicest most lovable guys you'll ever meet!! I'll never forget my years with him. Absolute legend on and off the ice.
