  So tired of the dating preference arguments. If someone&apos;s not attracted to you, for whatever reason, you shouldn&apos;t even want them to date you. Trying to bully people into being into you can only lead to resentment and negativity down the line

  “Children cannot consent to a diet” made me physically recoil. It’s a parent’s job to make sure their kids are learning about nutrition and how to make healthy choices and to provide food for their child. That’s not nonconsensual dieting. That’s doing your job as a parent

  I would just like to add that “diet” just means what you eat! Children can’t pick what they eat all the time, they would eat nothing but crap. As a former child I can confirm

  I am an SA survivor. The comparison of their parents forcing them on a diet as a child to being a victim of sexual violence is infuriating. While it sucks that that happened to them, it was in no way sexual assault and it is NOT the same. WTF.

  The bit about diet culture being sexual trauma really pissed me off. Complex ptsd and other trauma based disorders that you can develop after SA have a really high comorbidity with eating disorders (especially binge eating disorder) and there&apos;s so much shame associated with both. I cannot imagine how harmful it would be to stumble across this page and be told the desire to be a healthy weight is &quot;intentional famine&quot; or some shit like that. Especially bc all their clients are probably in an extremely vulnerable state and come from a culture/ family system that really isnt equipped to handle SA trauma :/ it just makes me so so worried and angry :/

  💜 Not consenting to a diet as a child is a fascinating take on raising children. I remember not consenting to baths but I&apos;m pretty sure that my mom was right to make me take them.

  how the hell can someone be a sex therapist and NOT know that rape isn&apos;t about sex? it&apos;s not having sex with someone without their consent, it&apos;s a violent crime. it&apos;s not about attraction or fetishes, it&apos;s about exerting power over a victim
