I am 76 and grew up and still live in Colorado. I found a Clovis point when I was a kid. It was never reported, so its real value was lost. I had no idea what it was when I found it. It is gone due to a theft, which breaks my heart. I was just an arrowhead hunter. It was in the Box Elder Creek flood plain between Hudson and Keenesburg, Colorado. The creek is spring fed and we used to find a lot of arrowheads in the area. As an informed amateur, I estimate ninety percent of the relics are still buried. The kind of looting you described appalls me--was eleven years old and there were no laws about looting. There aren't many now. Every find ought to be required to be reported, by law.<br>The federal law requiring repatriation of human remains to "descendants" is irritatingly stupid to me. I watch Time Team in Britain and they dig my ancestors up all of the time. I want the information--not caving in to Inidian religious cults...

Clovis First is so dismantled that referimg to it as being disproved by thisjust shows you do not know what you are talking about.
