My ggg grandad was born in 1709 in Ireland and came to America in 1720 and married into the Cherokee/Chickasaw tribe and served on their tribal leadership. (The 1820’s Cherokee census lists many Adair’s ) He crossed the Atlantic twice to publish his book on the origins, customs and spiritual traditions of the tribes along the eastern seaboard. ‘The history of the American Indians’ by James Adair first published in London in 1775.

Why is it every AI rendition of a Comanche on horseback has the rider using a SADDLE !!!! Comanche did not use saddles. Plus a saddle is very expensive. How the heck did these poor souls afford a saddle for every horse and rider as depicted in the AI generated images of the Comanche in this AI generated video ?

One thing to consider about the Comanches, especially between 1850 and around 1870/75. When the German settlers went west from San Antonio into the Hill Country, their leaders bargained with the Comanches, and convinced them that the Germans were a tribe different from the Anglos and Hispanos that the Comanches had been warring with. Because of this, <b>the German settlers in the Hill Country lived in peace with the Comanches for the next c. 20 years,</b> trading industrial goods, wheat and corn for Comanche's horses and buffalo meat. That's how the Comanches got saddles and guns: the Germans treated the Comanches with respect and dignity. Only the ultimate, violent attempts of the State of Texas to drive the Comanches off all their lands caused them to turn against all settlers.

Documented historical accounts—such as the captivity of Matilda Lockhart—show that captives were sometimes subjected to severe mutilation, burning, and exposure.  Captured Adult Males: Usually killed immediately or tortured to death. Bravery during torture was respected, but survival was rare.

When I taught English in Korea one of my Korean Language teachers wore her hair in braids and looks exactly like several Native Americans I had met.   On a trip to Sri Lanka, I met people with coal black skin, European facial structure and natural red hair.  Human nature, however, is far more similar than racial and cultural differences.  Thanks for a very interesting and enlightening video.  I would like to find a similar one on the history of the Hodenosaunee and their relationships with their neighbors.

I am glad to hear that tribes are keeping their native tongue and passing the knowledge to their young people! <br>🎉 Every American should never forget that it was knowledge of Indigenous languages that dave us during eartime. Movie about it called 'Code Talkers'.

This DNA investigation, is a real eye opener for me. I am of Ukrainian ancestry, mum from Kiev, father from Dnipro Ukraine, who were displaced people, from World War 2. They immigrated to Melbourne, Australia. This is all new knowledge for me about the multi cultural make up of the American Indians. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
