  A a portuguese speaker, i think Esperanto sounds like a spanish plus italian vocab &nbsp;with polish + french prosody, with a bit grammar, loan words and syntax from germanic and slavic languages. I understand very well with portuguese, even using modern or medieval words😊.

  The 30 cases thing has to be comparing some other language because Esperanto only has nominative and accusative. There&apos;s arguably genitive but technically it&apos;s just making an adjective by changing the terminal -o to -a (and which still declines into accusative as an adjective).

  4th Grade (1964)--Our teacher expounded on the virtues of Esperanto and how it was going to take over the world. Even tried to teach us some of it.
