The euro value holds great value. I’m Canadian and our exchange rate for 1€ = $1.60 Canadian dollar. So not cheap for us either but travel to different countries and cultures is worth it.

I'm going back to Porto next month. I'm staying in Cedofeita. I think it's a great area but it's a long walk to the Ribeira. The hills are a problem for me and the cobblestones I dont like. I have fallen quite a few times. I agree it's not the best place for people with mobility issues like myself. I book my accommodation about 9 months in advance. I think Porto is very safe. I've had no problems. I've only used the metro once or twice. I've also used the taxi service a few times.
