I had a boyfriend whom we've been together for 4 years whom I love the most in my life but I cannot tolerate his disrespect and jealousy towards me. So I left him but deep down I know we both love each other but somehow we didn't work out.. It's been almost almost 1 year since we broke up but I couldn't erase him from my memories and the lyrics "We're still be in love if you were a better man" hits different😢

This song was never about a boy to me but my dad.

I’ve been thinking a lot about him( my ex) and what we had. At first, I felt so lucky, so full of love, like this was exactly where I was meant to be. But even love that feels real and deep doesn’t always mean it’s meant to last. His words hurt—they were sharp, critical, and unkind—and I won’t pretend they didn’t. I feel the sting of rejection and disappointment, and it’s okay to feel that.
Yet even in this pain, I can see God’s hand. He’s teaching me that my worth is not defined by someone else’s inability to love me fully. I am lovable. I am valuable. I am cared for—and I don’t need someone to break me down to remind me of that. I gave my love genuinely, and that itself is beautiful, even if it wasn’t returned the way I hoped.
“Better Man” reminds me that sometimes people just can’t rise to the love we offer, no matter how much we give. And that’s not a reflection of my heart—it’s a reflection of their own. I release the hurt, I forgive—not because he necessarily deserves it—but because I deserve peace. I hold onto gratitude for the lessons, for the moments that felt sweet, and for the strength I’m discovering in myself.
One day, I’ll look back and see this as a chapter where I learned about love, boundaries, and God’s perfect timing. Until then, I’ll let the tears come, I’ll let the song play, and I’ll let my heart heal.

I'm so relatable to this—not because of a teenage boy, but because of my father. Funny enough, I'm NBSB because he used to be my standard for the ideal man. He used to be my knight in shining armor, and I used to be his princess. Then suddenly, I became the villain in his eyes.

My first heartbreak wasn't a teenage boy—it was my father.

Listening to this song after my sister and her boyfriend broke up hit me so much more harder than I thought it would. To sum up, he left her and we were both devastated- she was sobbing in my arms for ages now I look back at a picture of us three which I took while this song plays in my headphones and every time I cry for her. 💔
