  My 10-year-old son has PANDAS disease that causes tics. He struggles getting looks and is made fun of on a daily basis. He jerks his body, clears his throat, and grunts. He tries so hard to stop but will cry in pain and say mom it hurts so bad if I don’t tic. He will sit in his room and cry to himself saying “Why am I so stupid! Just stop! Just stop!” He is absolutely miserable and asks me when he will be normal again and why he can’t control his own body. Even when my son is slightly woken from sleep to rollover, he immediately starts having tics (not even awake) They have no control! He even said he feels like he is in prison. It’s absolute hell for my son. I am heartbroken for this man, my son, and anyone else dealing with tics.

  I&apos;m saying this as a black man. I find that black people have a double standard when it comes to the use of the &quot;N&quot; word. &nbsp;Black people lose their minds when someone says the &quot;N&quot; word. &nbsp;Yet half of rappers use the &quot;N&quot; word in most of their songs. &nbsp;Black people have to stop this double standard. &nbsp;You cannot complain if people use the word, yet sing and dance to it when rappers sing with it. &nbsp;This man has lived with this syndrome all of his life. &nbsp;Black people need to choose to stop being victims. &nbsp;It does not empower the community, instead it makes us look sad and weak. &nbsp;This needs to stop.<br><br><br>My family recently found out that my Grandson has Tourette&apos;s Syndrome. &nbsp;His ticks are not too bad, but at 9 years old, it is already having an impact on him. &nbsp;He gets teased at school. &nbsp;It hit when he was playing sports. &nbsp;There is a YouTube influencer named Sweet Anita who discusses her life with Tourette&apos;s. &nbsp;I have learned a lot and will continue to learn more about it.

  I have diagnosed tourettes. Mine is associated with movement and mimicking noises. <br><br>When I say that you already feel like a burden to society and at times deeply self loathe, I mean it. <br><br>Please let this man&apos;s support system be strong. People lose their lives to things like this, the guilt and pain is so heavy.

  I think what I find appalling is that despite telling others that tics can’t be controlled… they’ll find an excuse &nbsp;to be considered the accident as intentional, and that’ll give them an excuse as to why they’re raging on a disabled person.

  That opening joke to the awards show was HORRIBLE. Absolutely unbelievable. Inviting an entire theater of people to laugh at someone’s disorder is straight up MEAN! MEANNNNN!!!
