Sorry for the sound issues... and the terrible framing (when you see it, you will know!). It‘s not perfect, but I made it with love! 😅
At first the room was too empty, so there was a lot of echo. And then I guess I accidentally activated noise canceling, so all the noise the clothes made were removed, but my voice sounds terrible.

Lesson learned! And I guess I didn't have to wait for the new microphone parts after all... 😂

I have gotten in the habit of keeping a ‘best’ declutter box in one closet that holds clothing I no longer want to wear daily. Then when I pack to travel, I choose items mainly from this declutter box along with 1 or 2 new pieces. On the way back home I get rid of the decluttered clothing so I have room for new shirts/sweatshirts, souvenirs, etc. OR put my personal bag inside my mini carryon bag. I have even gotten my husband to do this. If he is along …. I put both of our cubes of clothing in my mini rolling carryon, and he carries a cross body Foldie bag with our few electronics, few liquid/gel items in plastic bag plus a jacket for each of us on the plane. Trip home everything is combined into the mini rolling carryon. We are both in our early 80s, so the lighter packing the better.

I appreciate your minimalist example--too many videos label "minimalist " tout packing multiple hair tools, giant toiletry bags, etc, so I lose interest. I am a 67-year-old woman whose husband prefers to stay home with the dog, but I've ramped up my world travel, and am trying to get 3 weeks out of an underseater bag only. (I still have my home full of Stuff though!) I share your disappointment in merino--too pricey and too prone to pilling and holes. Thanks for the suggested choices!

Finally someone who tells the unbiased truth about merino wool!
This is real content fellas, great video! Each time I travel I realize I wanna try to travel with less and less, so this is great information!

Wait... 2013 is old for clothes? Right now I am wearing a polyester shirt from 1995. Super comfy, and quick dry. I will wear it until it falls apart (it will likely outlive me ha ha). 😎🍹🌴

I have found that merino shirts made by athletic gear companies (icebreaker, smartwool, ibex) are very durable and I think it has to do with the twist of the yarn and how it’s woven, as it feels and looks different than less durable merino. Merino clothing made for casual wear tends to pill a lot or get holes. I have also found merino underwear by branwyn fits like normal cotton underwear but is much better a staying dry than cotton. Synthetic underwear cause yeast or bladder infections as they don’t allow air in and moisture out like cotton or merino so I never wear synthetics.

Your style and packing are similar to me except I LOVE merino. I have pieces that are well over five years old and still have tons of life. I wear my tops everyday. When traveling, I might wear one for several days before washing. I also switched from a bulky coat to several lighter items that can be layered.

Thanks for sharing.
