Don't know if it's been said before - but a tip with the roof overhangs to avoid all the beams showing from the under side (which happens with the medium and small roofs) is to embed a full-size roof halfway into the building. You won't see the doubled up roof anywhere, and you also won't have all the uneven stuff showing from the bottom. Looks a lot cleaner in my opinion.

Something I've found with the 45 walls being blocked. You can delete the long beam below them and place the 45 wall. Then place the long beam back, however, rotate it 180. For some reason one direction will be blocked, but 180 rotation won't.
