Before you say yes to a premium lens upgrade, make sure it's right for YOUR eyes - some conditions quietly disqualify you, and not every clinic will mention it. My 50-page Decision Guide covers the honest trade-offs, the cost checklist, and the questions that protect you

My condition wasn't compatible with monovision, I declined lenses that correct distance, I insisted on close up. Couldn't be happier, my life is involved mostly around tasks in the close range. I need glasses for driving, but I have been driving with glasses all my life and that is a small part of my daily living

Excellent presentation. It was definitely the experience of some people I've known that they chose the wrong lens and missed the loss of their near vision.

I have cataract starting. I’ve never been able to wear contacts comfortably as I have stigmatism in both eyes and at 13 I had an injury to my eyes from a horse that kicked me in the face as I was dragged under it (foot caught in stirrup and the saddle had loosened and was under it). My eyes have numerous floaters and warped places in it. The eye doctor said my alignment or maybe focus is off too and I had to get special glasses to see better. I see halos when I drive.

But I was black blind from that horse in both eyes for weeks so I am incredibly grateful to see at all !

The choice I made was nearsighted in one eye, and farsighted in the other. Now I see 20/20.

My husband had surgery in his right eye with a lens that corrected both fire and near then he had the left eye done. Part of the cataract fell down in the back of his eye they could only put in a distance lens so he just had a surgery to have the cataract that fell down in the back of his eye removed we’re currently going through healing. Praying that this all turns out to be OK.

I had mono vision before I developed cataracts, and went with that option for my cataract surgery.
Never regretted my choice, my vision is great, day and night, close and far.☺️

Both of my parents had both eyes done in the past year. Both went with fixed focus distance in both eyes. In the case of my mother, she came out of the process with perfect 20/20 vision. My dad ended up needing reading glasses. Since he needed glasses before, only needing simple reading glasses is a huge upgrade for him.

Neither have halos or starbursts and both really noticed how bright the world was post procedure. The fixed distance lenses were closets to their actual vision so it was an easy decision. That and Medicare covers fixed distance lenses while the multifocal lenses would have been $3200 each eye and likely result in vision artifacts. Considering they are both in their 80s, they consider it a great deal.

National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland said the following:

(Removal of cataracts without surgery is being worked on in research labs.)

(10% of all cataract surgeries get no improvement or make eye sight worse.)

(Nerves are cut causing painful dry eyes.) (Lifelong fake tears lubricating eye drops are needed after cataract surgery in many cases.)

(Living with cataracts is safe and it is your option to do something about your vision or just live with it.)
