  Husband aged 71, had 5 bypass CABG surgery done in February 2024 .Spent 6 days in the hospital. It had to be done before surgery for a large abdominal aortic aneurysm by EVAR surgery &nbsp;could be done in June 2024. Then leg aneurysm surgery in September 2024. &nbsp;He has definitely slowed down physically since. &nbsp;And some cognitive decline also. &nbsp;We are blessed &nbsp;to celebrate 52 years of marriage next month

  Don’t forget to mention that a large number of people/patients don’t really want to hear about the potential complications of any procedure performed or actively participate in their own surgical recovery and just expect to be miraculously cured.

  My 85 year old friend had an aortic valve replaced. She&apos;s doing great. If you think you&apos;re going to die you just might. The people around you can make a difference in attitude and will power. Never give in or give up and keep the negative people away.

  My 94 years old mother had a digestive track blockage with an internal bleeding,physician in charge of the admission suggested a transport via ambulance to a metropolitan,university hopsital for a &nbsp;surgery,we,meaning ,her adult children were divided at what to do,but I, the eldest son ,decided not to pursue this option,after having a conversatiopn with mother some time prior to the event;I asked mother &quot;are you ready to go &quot;to heaven&quot; she said yes,so knowing this answer helepd me to make mother`s final hours &nbsp;a really peacefull passing;she was on strong painkillers(opiates) we gathered around her bed in the ICU ,she prayed with us to the last breath.I was a trully blessed passing.

  I had both hips renewed twenty years ago, best thing I have done. Now as I’m dying of old age they are the only thing that still works properly.

  I&apos;m 88 years old and have had heart surgery twice, once in &nbsp;1989 and again in 2017. &nbsp;I am still in good health, exercising three days a week.

  I&apos;m 80 years old and I had the Whipple surgery in July. &nbsp;I&apos;m recovering from the surgery. However, I&apos;m having significant problems with digestion. I&apos;m limited to cooked vegetables, protein, and baked goods without fiber. I seriously miss raw vegetables, fruit, and alcoholic beverages. I have had significant stomach pain and diarrhea. I was told I should reach my new normal within 3 months.
