  Just an fyi for people who can’t use flour: I try to keep a bag of Bob’s Red Mill potato flakes on hand. The only ingredient is dehydrated potato. Good for thickening soups and stews. Mild taste.

  Well, just made this tonight...September 10, 2026 as I am home and my wife is on vacation and with family. &nbsp;Having a 13.7% &nbsp;stout, watching the NFL game later and can honestly tell you as a kid from a farming and ranching back ground this is damn good. &nbsp;Been a subscriber for years and can honestly say for a fall, non red meat stew or soup, this is really good. &nbsp;Keep up the great work!...Erik

  I just made and ate this. I don&apos;t care if it&apos;s 87 degrees, it&apos;s NFL Sunday. This was probably one of the best dishes I have ever made. The one addition I made is add in two parsnips that were languishing in my fridge. &nbsp;Other than that, followed it to the T. So good. I can&apos;t wait to make this again on a cold November day, if i can wait. 10/10 MAKE IT.

  I think to myself, why does everyone want precise amounts? It’s cooking, not baking. Then I think, not everyone grew up cooking/helping to cook. A cooking show teaching me to stop being so judgmental in my head. 😂 I think you do a great job helping others who might be new to cooking or may be less confident as well as giving those of us that have been cooking since before Moses new ideas. For other readers of this long comment…buy the book! You will love it!

  I just harvested a bunch of mushrooms so I&apos;d add those in. This stew looks easy and delicious. &nbsp;YUM!!
