  Having worked in a highly technical industry (medical imaging devices industry), I&apos;ve discovered the technically smartest people never make it to the top. The top are usually filled with people who are somewhat skilled technically, but incredibly good at playing politics. It&apos;s just the way it is.

  I love how the 2 speakers are really respectful of each other. No one is talking over the other or cutting the other off. They complement each other very respectfully, and that&apos;s just beautiful to watch.

  Thank God I&apos;m self employed now so I don&apos;t have to deal with this. &nbsp;8 years of playing these games was enough!

Trust your gut and do not gaslight yourself. Part of “playing office politics” is knowing when you’ve walked into a pit of vipers and taking the right strategic steps towards your departure.
